Our story and purpose
Lumuno is a founder-led social enterprise developing neuroscience-informed mental health education, practical tools, and community-based support for people who face cultural, economic, structural, or neurodivergence-related barriers to care. The work is rooted in the belief that support should be more accessible, more culturally responsive, and more usable in everyday life than many people are currently offered.
Rather than relying on vague wellbeing language, the organisation is being built around clarity, evidence, and lived reality. Its purpose is to translate research into forms that feel usable, respectful, and genuinely relevant to the people too often overlooked by conventional systems.

Meet the founder
Hi, I’m Nangoma. I founded Lumuno from the intersection of neuroscience, lived experience, and a growing conviction that mental health support should be more culturally responsive, more practical, and more accessible to people who are too often left navigating complexity alone.
My background is in genetics, microbiology, and neuroscience, and my work is equally shaped by neurodivergence, chronic illness, disability advocacy, and cultural storytelling. Lumuno reflects that combination: research-informed, community-rooted, and designed with everyday reality in mind.
Who Lumuno is for
Supporting Diverse Communities
Lumuno is for people who are too often overlooked, underserved, or left to figure things out alone. This includes people facing multiple forms of marginalisation and exclusion, especially where mental health needs are shaped by disability, neurodivergence, poverty, racial inequality, migration, insecure housing, isolation, or being repeatedly passed between services without meaningful support.
It is especially relevant for people who are falling through the cracks: people who may not meet thresholds for help, cannot afford private options, do not feel represented by mainstream services, or are carrying the weight of several barriers at once.

What Lumuno is building
What’s being built here is a more accessible, research‑led way to get mental health support that actually fits real life. It brings together personalised guidance, educational resources, and future programmes so that people can better understand what they are going through and take practical next steps at a pace that feels possible. The work is shaped by science and lived experience, with a focus on support that feels realistic, respectful, and grounded in everyday life rather than clinical or overwhelming.

Personalised Guidance
Support that helps people make sense of what they are going through, understand their needs, and take practical next steps in a way that feels realistic and manageable.

Educational Resoucres
Accessible, research-led information and tools designed to help people learn more about mental health, care, and everyday wellbeing in clear and supportive ways.

Future Programmes
Workshops, community-rooted resources, and future support pathways designed for people who are too often overlooked or left to navigate care alone.
